-they judge the living and can cause trouble if they arent acting as they should

-people who have been buried without a proper
funeral and have no family left to honer them
-a hungry ghost festival is held every year where
hungry ghosts can wonder and offerings are made, so
they wont cause troubles

-to be comfotable in your own skin

-2 types of immortality spiritual and physical
-they hope to live forever (not concerned)
-spiritual: hope their souls will live forever

-not doing/effortless action
-belief that if ones actions are harmony with the Tao then it will feel effortless

external alchemy
-ingesting alixirs like gold and jade
-because these substances are perceived as immortal
and forever so ingesting them will give some one
some of its immortality
-less popular than spiritual immortality

-someone who dies an untimely death
-their chi goes unused
-they are trapped between 2 worlds
-they cause trouble for the living
-must be fed by the community so they dont cause
trouble

internal alchemy
-the cultivation of 3 substances in your body (jing, chi, and shen)
-tries to make your soul a perfected part of the Tao

-a journey to an unknown place where a person goes
in serch of new or expanded meaning about
themselves, others, or a higher god

-a form of meditation where you empty your mind
-when your mind is empty you can receive messages from the tao

reconciling opposites
-knowing that yin and yang need each other to exist

-the formal word/chinese symbol for ying and yang

-we should follow his wisdom
