• if you look around at your friends, etc. people are not really that expressive with their faces
• when you are expressive with your facial expression it draws people in, it’s more dynamic range in how you’re expressing yourself
• it makes you more interesting to watch
• camera makes a physical disconnect
• if you do a subtle smirk, wink, etc. you need to really exaggerate facial expressions/hand gestures
• on camera you need to exaggerate some facial expressions for them to come across
• channel your personality and emotion, show that on camera

• last thing you want, is be monotone, sound like a robot
• it’s boring, nobody wants that
• depends on type of video making, your personality, how much you want to show
• depends on your audience (excited tonality? delivering sad news?)
• Whatever vocal tonality, dynamic range, ad as much as possible
• people want to go from high to low
• maybe you’re talking fast because you’re excited, then you’re talking slow to make a point
• take people on a journey
• if you talk on the exact same monotone voice, it gets boring really fast
