What is the direct strategy, and when do you use it?
Information first, justification second. This is when someone agrees with you.
What is the indirect strategy, and when do you use it?
Justification first, information second. This is when someone disagrees with you.

What is the Median?
The middle value in a range of values.
What is the Mode?
The most frequent value in a set of values.
When do you use informal, conversational writing styles?
Any time the audience doesn’t expect a formal tone.
What can you use to enhance readability?
Bullets, numbered and lettered lists, headings, underlined items, and white space.
What types of reports will you be doing in real life?
Periodic/activity reports; trip, convention, and conference reports.
True or false: it’s a good idea to tell employees “Don’t Assume” as a rule.
False! Ask what assumptions were made so you can evaluate them. They were either okay assumptions, questionable assumptions, or improper assumptions.
Why do you tell people what they did right?
Because you want them to repeat that behavior in the future.
True or false: you can use the singular “their” as an easy way to refer to someone in business?
False. Do not use the singular “their” even though it is being fought for by higher-ups in English.
When is the best time to apply for a job?
Two minutes before they know they need a person to do what you want to do. Timing is everything, so don’t wait until it gets to HR because that’s too late.
Brad Fregger rule #1 about resumes:
If at all possible, never send your resume. Before the interview it is seen as “why can’t I hire them” but after the interview it’s seen as “why can I hire them?”
When should you provide references?
Only when asked for them specifically, and remember to make sure your references know you used them.
