TEST DEVELOPMENT Flashcards
(8 cards)
Also known as pilot study or pilot research, which refers to the preliminary surrounding the creation of a prototype of the test
Pilot work
Every test that is developed is implicitly or explicitly influenced or guided by the theory or theories held by the test developer
The role of theory
The process by which measuring device is designed and calibrated and by which numbers (scale values) are assigned to different amounts of trait, attribute or characteristics being measured
Scaling
A type of rating scale wherein the final test score is obtained by summing the ratings across all items (e.g. likert scale)
Summative scale
Likert scale is developed by?
Rensis likert
A type of summative rating scale in which each items presents the testaker with 5 alternative responses (sometimes 7) usually on an agree-disagree or approve-disapprove continuum
Likert scale
A type of scaling wherein respondents evaluate two or more objects at one time and objects are directly compared with one another as part of the measuring process
Comparative scaling
Test takers are presented with pairs of stimuli (photographs, objects, statements) which they are tasked to compare
Method of paired comparisons
