Chinese industry
All aspects of the Chinese economy were destroyed as a result of of Chinese civil war, as well as the destruction of WW2
During the Civil War, the Nationalist forces would often destroy industrial regions
Many areas of china lacked fuel resources as well as electricity
By the end of WW2 the Chinese region Manchuria was controlled by the USSR
The ussr would take resources from china back to the ussr leading to further widespread economic problems
Industrial output was 44% less than it was in 1937
Chinese agriculture
Was in a state of decline
Majority of peasants supported the communist party
Ccp promised land reforms
There was a shortage of livestock and equipment
A great deal of farmers were conscripted, this led to a labour shortage
Chinese infrastructure
There were issues relating to infrastructure, mainly due to the civil war
Around 50% of railway networks were destroyed during the civil war
Bridges and other transport infrastructure were destroyed
Infrastructure in china was poor before the civil war as a result of corruption within the nationalist government
