What is the nervous system?
A
The system in the body which detects and reacts to stimuli

What does the nervous system do?
A
It sends fast and precise electrical impulses through nerves. It allows you to respond to things quickly

What are neurons?
A
Nerve cells that are adapted to carry electrical impulses from one point to another

What is the central nervous system?
A
A coordination centre that receives information from receptors and then coordinates a response. It’s made up of the brain and spinal cord

What does a sensory neuron do?
A
Transfers a signal from a receptor to the CNS

What does a motor neuron do?
A
Transfers a signal from the CNS to an effector

A
