The origins of Slavery trace back to the earliest human civilizations long before recorded history. It likely began independently in different regions as societies developed agriculture, social hierarchies, and warfare.
What was the Triangular Trade?
The Triangular Trade was a three-part trade system that operated from the 16th to the 19th centuries, connecting Europe, Africa, and the Americas. European ships carried manufactured goods such as guns, textiles, and alcohol to West Africa were they would exchange those goods for enslaved Africans who were then transported across the Atlantic which was a brutal journey known as the Middle Passage to the Americas. The Europeans would then sell the enslaved people for a huge profit. The enslaved people were then forced to work on plantations producing raw materials such as sugar, cotton, tobacco, and coffee.
What were the experiences of Slavery?
The experiences of slavery were overwhelmingly brutal and traumatic as although it varied by time there were common themes of extreme violence and poor conditions that enslaved people had to go through. Even before the enslaved Africans got to the plantation sites they had to get onto a boat with thousands of other enslaved people with absolutely no room to move and most people couldn’t even stand up properly and because of many other factors such as disgusting smells and poor food many enslaved Africans died on the journey to the Americas but even if you did survive you’d have to work tirelessly on the plantations and if any of the plantation owners thought you were slacking you’d face serious abuse.

What were some Economic factors that led to the abolition of Slavery?
Some Economic factors that led to the abolition of slavery is that plantations became less profitable due to sugar and other raw materials prices falling as well as shifts in global trade from raw materials to manufactured goods.
