what started the war in vietnam?
the division of Vietnam, cold war tensions, communist insurgency int he south, and the US effort to stop the communist spread.
why did the USA become involved by supporting south Vietnam? what fear fueled the USA decision?
they became involved because they wanted to stop the spread of communism. the government of USA was scared because they believed in the domino affect.
why was American involvement in the Vietnam called a client war?
because it was a part of the broader cold war struggle between the USA and the soviet union. where each superpower supported a different side without directly fighting each other.
why did some Americans try to avoid the draft?
because of the oppositions to war, fear of dying, inequality in the draft system and personal responsibilities.
