Many were treated poorly due to the loss of the war and accused for killing innocent people especially the ones who came back when opposition to the war was the highest

The USA’s image had been damaged as it had entered the war to keep South Vietnam free from communism but by 1975 it was all communist
Many people saw the USA as anything other than united due to the Civil Rights movement and Vietnam war meant the goverment was less respected
