What must be given to TC when positively identifying location and why?

Answer 3

The locations/station name/signals on either side to enable the exact location of the metrage to be positively identified

e.g. 470km between Te Kuiti and Puketutu;
76.32km between 4R and 4LA signals at Chertsey

Question 4

What pre-authorisation checks must be completed by TC/Signaller?

Answer 4

• Ensure the proposed occupancy will not conflict with rail movements
• Verify location of conflicting movements
• Ensure last train is clear of on tracking location
• Record details of the occupancy on the graph or the form provided
• Apply blocking

Question 5

Before authorising the occupancy, what must be established when Signaller is providing the blocking?

TC must receive confirmation from Signaller that blocking is applied to protect the occupancy
