Q

If your device is experiencing a power drain or it drains faster than normal how can you go about troubleshooting this issue?

A
  • This can be caused by heavy application use, increased network activity, high resource utilization or possibly even a Denial Of Service( DOS)
  • Before installing any application on a mobile device you will want to make sure that the application is legitimate, you can use an app scanner app such as ZAP(Zscaler application profiler), if you do find an app that is using all of your resources then you can force stop the app in your mobile device settings.
  • If you want to make sure your mobile device is secure from potentially malicious apps etc you can run and install anti-malware software or delete the app and perform a clean install.
  • As a last resort you can perform a clean install of an app or perform a factory reset and reinstall apps.
5
Q

Unusual Network Activity such as Unintended Wifi connections or data transmission over limit could be a sign of? And how can you diagnose this issue?

A
  • A Malicious app could be causing this problem.
  • Check your network connection.
  • Are you on a trusted WiFi network that uses encryption?
  • Check overall network speed( Run speed check / cell tower analyzer.
  • Examine running apps for unusual activity( Large file transfers, constant activity)
6
Q

How can you go about preventing Unintended Bluetooth pairing?

A
  • Always try to not connect to a device that isn’t your own
  • Remove any Bluetooth devices you don’t recognize. You can always re-pair the device if you need to.

  • After turning off Bluetooth it is always a good idea to perform an anti-malware scan to make sure there are no malicious apps.
7
Q

If your mobile device for some reason has a data breach and someone has leaked your personal files and data / Unauthorized account access(unauthorized root access) you will want to?

A
  • Determine the cause of the data breach.

  • Change passwords
8
Q

What is Unauthorized location tracking? How can measures be taking to prevent it?

A
  • Real-time tracking information and historical tracking details. This should be protected as your other data.
  • Run an anti-malware scan and look for any malicious apps that can capture many data points.
  • Check apps with an offline app scanner. Get some insight into what’s running
  • Perform a factory reset and restore from a known good backup.
9
Q

Unauthorized camera use and microphone use can happen, what can happen and how can it be remedied?

A
  • Third party app captures intimate information( Ethical and legal issues)
  • Run an anti-malware scan try to identify the source of the breach.
