Normal Opening from Inside
• Witness is present and clearance has been obtained from the PURS that all doors have been
DISARMED.
• Both crew members must positively agree the door is disarmed and the positive clearance in the
form of two knocks and thumbs up, has been received from ground personnel.
• Check slide is DISARMED and safety pin fitted.
• Grasp assist handle on the door frame.
• Lift up the door control handle slowly 3 – 4 degrees and keep a watch on the Slide Armed warning
light.
• If it does not illuminate, continue lifting it up to the OPEN position.
• Push door outwards and forwards by using the door assist handle until the gust lock engages.
What does it mean if the ‘SLIDE ARMED’ caption illuminates?
The door is still in the ARMED condition. Re-stow the door control handle.
How should the door control handle be lifted?
Always lift up the door control handle slowly to avoid accidental deployment of the slide.
What should you do if the ‘CABIN PRESSURE’ caption red light flashes?
DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR - REPORT TO THE IFS WHO WILL INFORM THE FLIGHT DECK.
