What is long-term memory (LTM)?
LTM is the storage of memories over a lengthy period of time.
What are the three types of long-term memory?
The three types of LTM are episodic, semantic, and procedural.
What does declarative memory mean?
Declarative memory means you can access the memory consciously and express it in words.
What does non-declarative memory mean?
Non-declarative memory means the memory is not consciously recalled and is difficult to explain in words.

Episodic memory is declarative, meaning it can be consciously recalled and put into words.
Example: Remembering that a bike has two wheels.
What is semantic memory?
Memory’s of facts, meanings, and knowledge.
Semantic memory is declarative, so it can be consciously recalled and expressed in words.
Example: a bike has two wheels.
What is procedural memory?
Memory’s of unconscious memories of skills, also known as muscle memories.
Procedural memory is non-declarative, so it cannot be consciously recalled or easily put into words.
Example: The skill of riding a bike.
