Q

what can an early ultrasound show

A

Early Pregnancy It is possible to detect an intrauterine gestational sac at four to five weeks pregnant, with transvaginal ultrasound being more accurate at this gestational age.

A yolk sac is apparent by 5 weeks pregnantal age and a crown-rump length (CRL) is apparent with fetal heart activity at six weeks pregnant using transvaginal ultrasound.

Early ultrasound can assist in the management and diagnosis of threatened miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy.
