(13 cards)
Observation
the action or process of observing something or someone carefully or in order to gain information.
Data
facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis.
Variable
not consistent or having a fixed pattern; liable to change.
Precision
the quality, condition, or fact of being exact and accurate.
Accuracy
the quality or state of being correct or precise.
Predict
say or estimate that (a specified thing) will happen in the future or will be a consequence of something.
Infer

Independent variable
a variable that stands alone and isn’t changed by the other variables you are trying to measure.
Dependent variable
a variable (often denoted by y ) whose value depends on that of another.
Line graph
a graph that uses lines to connect individual data points
Bar graph
a diagram in which the numerical values of variables are represented by the height or length of lines or rectangles of equal width.
Pie graph
a type of graph in which a circle is divided into sectors that each represent a proportion of the whole.
Scatterplot
another term for scatter diagram.
