What does it mean for a trait to be autosomal dominant?

What is X-inactivation?
when one of a female’s x-chromosomes is deactivated and turned into a Barr Body to prevent there from being too many genes compared to males

a chart showing the occurrence of traits in a family

What does a square represent on a pedigree?

What does it mean when someone’s shape is shaded in on a pedigree?
they are affected by the trait
