Law 10/1986, of 17 March, on Dentists and Other Professionals Related to Dental Health: dentist
- The profession of Dentist is regulated for which the University Degree of Licenciado will be
required to be established by the Government at the proposal of the Council of Universities. - Dentists have the professional capacity to carry out the set of prevention, diagnosis and
treatment activities related to anomalies and diseases of the teeth, mouth, jaws and related
tissues. - Dentists may prescribe medicines, prostheses and medical devices corresponding to the
scope of their professional practice.

The placement or delivery of custom-made medical devices by a practitioner, in
the exercise of his professional powers, shall not be deemed to be the
dispensing, marketing, sale, distribute, supply or placing on the market of such
devices, for the purposes of Articles 4.1 and 111. In any event, the practitioner
shall separate his fees from the manufacturing costs.
Law 10/1986, of 17 March, on Dentists and Other Professionals Related to Dental Health: dental technician
- The profession of dental technician is recognized, with the corresponding title of Second Degree Professional Training, whose scope of action extends to the design, preparation,
elaboration, manufacture and repair of dental prostheses, through the use of products,
materials, techniques and procedures in accordance with the indications and prescriptions of
the Medical Dentist or Dentist. - Dental technicians shall have full capacity and responsibility for the prostheses they make
or supply and for the corresponding Centres, facilities or laboratories. - The laboratories of dental prostheses must be directed autonomously by the Dental
Technician that is in possession of the title of Professional Formation of Second Degree.

- The profession of Dental Hygienist is created which, with the corresponding title of Second Degree Professional Training, will have as its attributions, in the field of health
promotion and oral health education, the collection of data, the carrying out of health
examinations and the advice of hygienic and preventive measures, individual or collective.
They will also collaborate in epidemiological studies. - They may also perform certain technical-care functions as Assistants and Collaborators
of Medical Dentist and Dentists.
