Observational learning is a socio-cognitive approach to learning that occurs when an individual sees another person’s actions and the consequences of those actions, and this guides their own future behaviour.

  • Intrinsic motivation occurs from within the individual, for example the desire to perform well on an exam.

-Extrinsic motivation occurs from factors external to the individual, such as the desire to receive praise from your teacher for doing well on an exam.

Self-reinforcement: Feeling good or proud of yourself.

External reinforcement: Getting something from others (like a reward).

Vicarious reinforcement: Seeing someone else get rewarded, which makes you want to do the behaviour too.
