10 Commandments
- Laws with 2 parts
a. part 1 (first 3)= relationship with God
b. part 2(last 7)= relationship with others - Laws in order are:

- You shall have no gods before me (Sex , popularity, etc.)
- Do not use the Lord’s name in vain (OMG)
- Keep the sabbath holy (resting on 7th day)

- Do not commit adultery (sex out of marriage)
- Do not steal
- Do not bear false witness (lie, gossip, hiding truth, etc.)
- Do not covet (want something a lot) you neighbor’s wife/husband

10 Plagues
- Put on Egypt to get the Pharaoh to let the people go
- 10th = death of firstborn
- Can’t break lamb’s bones, must out blood on door, if not enough people - share with neighbor, must be prepared specific way
- Relates to the Last Supper (passover) and no breaking lamb’s bones

- God gives to people to make them happy

- Created from the Angel of Death passing over house during 10th plague

Sinai Covenant
The Sinai Covenant is the promise that the Israelites will be obedient to God and only God as well as the ten commandments.
Theophany
A visible manifestation/appearance to humankind/man of God.
Golden Calf
- The calf made from melted gold and jewelry
- The Israelites worship this calf while Moses is on Mount Sinai
- They were led by Aaron because he was trying to entertain the people
- God made the people melt the calf and drink the ashes

What caused the enslavement of the Israelites?
The Pharaoh was scared because they were multiplying fast and they might rebel
How did God respond to the enslavement of his people?
God was upset, so he made contact with Moses to get him to help free his people
Why did the tenth plague convince the Pharaoh to release the Israelites?
His own son died, so he was finally hurt by the plague
What was the attitude of the people of Israel toward God while they were in the midst of the desert? Why did they feel like this? How long did they wander in the desert? Who reached the Promised Land?
The people were untrusting, they didn’t know if they would live or die. They wandered for 40 years. Joshua reached the Promise Land. (second son)
