Circadian Rhythm
a circadian rhythm is a roughly 24-hour cycle in the biochemical, physiological, or behavioral processes of living entities
REM Sleep
the brain engages in in low amplitude, fast and regular beta waves much like awake-aroused state; eyes rapidly move and the person reports vivid dreams

REM Rebound
when the body is deprived of REM sleep it shows an increase in REM sleep

a drug that can produce mood changes and distorted perceptions
