Q

How to graph inequalities?

A
  1. Draw the line (e.g. x<2)
If it is more than, line is dotted; if it is more than or equal 2 line is filled
  2. Shade side which does not fulfill equation, draw R on side which does

Q

2x^2 -9x +10 is more than or equal to 0, factorize it and find the range

A
  1. factorize it to get (2x-5)(x-2)
  2. This means that x is smaller than 2.5 but bigger than 2
  3. Since it says more than or equal to 0, it will be written like x>2.5, x<2; this shows the two sides of the parabola above the x axis. If it would be smaller than 0, it would be written like 2<x<2.5 to show the curved, connected part under x axis
