Ureters

A

-Urine transport (kidneys  urinary bladder)
-Paired muscular tubes/ retroperitoneal
-Smooth muscle tubes  peristaltic contractions to transport urine
-Lumen wall has folds in relaxed state, capable of expansion during peristaltic contraction

Internal surface of urinary bladder

A

-Ureters enter the urinary bladder superiorly on the posterior surface
-Urine will exit inferiorly via the internal urethra orifice into the urethra
Trigone- smooth triangular section (ureter entry points and internal urethral orifice)
Rugae- ridges/ folds of muscular lining
