MMR
12 - 15 months, 4 - 6 years old
Dose 1 (3 when traveling)
Contraindication: pregnant
Precaution: Anaphylactic reaction to eggs, gelatin, neomycin.
* Transfusion of blood containing Antibodies in the last 3 months. Simultaneous TB testing.*
Inactive poliovirus
2- 18 months, 4 -6 yo
Dose: 3
Adverse: Tenderness at injection site
Contraindication: Anaphylactic reaction to polymyxin &
Neomycin, Streptomycin.
Precautions: pregnancy
Hep A
1 -2 years
Dose: 2
Bad GI & Liver failure Diarrhea
Influenza
6 months
Dosage: Annually
Less than 2 and over 50 get inactive flu
Precaution: Avoid Antivirals for 14 days
Allergic to eggs & Gelatin
Varicella
Age: 12 - 15 months, 4 - 6 months
Dose 1 does each (get the shot twice)
Contraindication: pregnancy, allergic to eggs, gelatin or neomycin
Precaution with cancer, Meds affecting immune system. Blood products with antibodies last 3 months & Antiviral 24 hrs prior
Rotavirus
Age: 2 - 6 months
Dose: 2 or 3
Adverse: irritability, mild temporary diarrhea
Contraindication: History of intussusception ( bowel obstruction )
Precaution: immune compromised
Live Vaccine
Varicella, Influenza, MMR, Rotavirus
Sulfonamides
Neurological disorder
Gentamicin
Hearing loss
Tetracyclines
Discoloration of teeth
