What conditions must be present for vortex ring to occur?
A
Powered flight (therefore induced flow passing through the disc)
High rate of descent (therefore an external airflow to oppose the induced flow)
Low indicated airspeed.

Which part of the blade stalls first and why?
A
Stall occurs at the root. Angle of attack is greater and so it reaches the stalling angle first.
