What are agent identities

What is privlidge?
acess to unearned resources that is only available to a group of people because of their social group membership
what is a privlidge walk
someone announces different privilege, if a privilege is something you attain you take a step forward. This is done in a group to show privileges others have, spreading awareness about how different people have different privileges
what is explicit bias?
attitudes and beliefs about a person or group that occur on a conscious level
implicit bias:
attitudes and beliefs about a person or group that occur outside an individual conscious awareness
3 Examples of implicit bias
affinity bias (similarity)
confirmation bias (using new information to fit your agenda)
Hao effect (believing physically attractive people are better people)
What is the implicit attitude test?
tests implicit bias towards young faces
results of implicit attitude test?
participants clicked faster when young faces were paired with good words

Research suggests most people prefer young faces, including those 60+
What is prejudice?
forming a judgement or belief about an individual or group without sufficient grounds
discrimination
mistreating an individual solely because of their membership to a particular social group
difference between prejudice and discrimination
prejudice is an attitude and discrimination is a behaviour
discrimination vs oppression
oppression occurs when discrimination is supported by the government, community or society at large
