What is Manifest Destiny?
The belief that the United States was destined to expand its territory across the entire North American continent by God.
What was the Homestead Act?
A law that provided 160 acres of land in the western United States to anyone who fulfilled the requirements and wanted to move to the West.
What are reservations?
Small parcels of land on which Indian people were supposed to live.
What was the Dawes Act?
A law that let break tribal lands and then make them into individual plots in where they were located Native American families.
What is the Transcontinental Railroad?
A railway that crossed the United States.
What is the Populist Party?
Political party that represented the interests of the farmers, laborers, and common folk against elites.
