What is a PA
A PA is a healthcare professional that is trained in the medical model and work under the supervision of a consultant.
They can work in primary and secondary care
They have a degree of autonomy, they can work independently to an extent
They have a variety of clinical duties (interpreting test results, taking patient histories, doing physical examinations, attend ward rounds, perform venepunctures, diagnosis, treatment and management, they can also discharge and admit patients)
Trained to the medical model - (they can diagnose and identify pathologies with complex clinical presentations)
What does the course entail

Learning theory
Practical learning whilst on placement
Anatomy Physiology Pathophysiology Disease pathologies The project in second year - investigating a topic of interest. You've got to make a methodology, analysis and presentation
