Q

What are the key steps in recrystalisation?

A
  1. Select a solvent with high solubility at high temp and insoluble at low temperature
  2. Dissolve in the minimum volume of hot solvent
  3. Filter to remove insoluble impurities and collect the filtrate
  4. Cool the filtrate and collect the crystals by vacuum filtrate
  5. Dry the crystals in a low oven
