To summarize is to select the key or important features of a text and then consolidate these into a shorter version of the original text. Summarizing is done by simplifying ideas and by using differently structured sentences (Bowker, 2007).
Summarizing
you restate information differently. The difference of summarizing from paraphrasing is that paraphrasing does not necessarily need to shorten or condense the text. The aim of paraphrasing is to rewrite by using different words and phrases (Bowker, 2007).
