LOSS OF BRAKING
“LOSS OF BRAKING”
REV - MAX
If needed, the flight crew may keep maximum reverse thrust until full aircraft stop.
BRAKE PEDALS - RELEASE
Avoids brutal braking when switching to ABCU
A/SKID OFF - ORDER
A/SKID & N/W STRG - OFF
BRAKE PEDALS - PRESS
MAX BRK PR - 1000 PSI
ABCU limits pressure to 1000 PSI.
Monitor pressure on triple indicator.
If still no braking:
PARK BRAKE - USE
Use short successive parking brake applications to stop the aircraft.
EMER DESCENT
”EMERGENCY DESCENT”
CREW OXY MASKS - USE
SIGNS - ON
EMER DESCENT - INITIATE
If A/THR not active:
THR LEVERS - IDLE
SPD BRK - FULL
============================
CONTINUE WITH REMAINDER OF PROCEDURE
UNRELIABLE SPEED
”UNRELIABLE SPEED”
If safety of flight:
AP - OFF
FD - OFF
A/THR - OFF
PITCH / THRUST: as appropriate
< THRT RED ALT - 15° / TOGA
> THRT RED ALT & < FL100 - 10° / CLB
> THRT RED ALT & > FL100 - 5° / CLB
FLAPS:
MAINTAIN CONF 3, or less
L/G - UP
SPEEDBRAKES - CHECK RETRACTED
When above MSA, level off for troubleshooting.
Initial PITCH/THRUST targets for LEVEL flight
CONF | ALT(FL) | NU | N1
1, 2, 3 < 200 5° 50%
0 < 200 4° 60%
0 > 200 3° 70%
GPWS/EGPWS CAUTIONS & WARNINGS
“PULL UP TOGA”
Simultaneously:
AP - OFF
PITCH - PULL UP
Pull to full backstick and maintain in that position.
THRUST LEVERS - TOGA
SPEED BRAKES Lever - CHECK RETRACTED
BANK - WINGS LEVEL or ADJUST
Aircraft obtain the best climb performance when the wings are as level as possible. The flight crew can adjust bank while climbing, provided that turning is the safest action.
Note: For some airports, the operator may define a specific procedure.
DO NOT CHANGE CONFIGURATION (SLATS/FLAPS, GEAR) UNTIL CLEAR OF OBSTACLE.
TCAS TA
“TCAS I HAVE CONTROL”
If the A/THR is off and available:
AUTOTHRUST - ON
*It is recommended to set the A/THR to ON in order to avoid the AUTO FLT A/THR LIMITED alert at the automatic A/THR activation that occurs in the case of a RA.
Do not perform a maneuver based on a TA alone.
TCAS RA
“TCAS I HAVE CONTROL”
> = All RA, except CLIMB RA during with CONF 3 or FULL:
AP - OFF
FDs - OFF
Respond promptly and smoothly.
Note: The FD will reengage with the occurrence of a corrective resolution advisory and must be reselected OFF.
VERTICAL SPEED - ADJUST or MAINTAIN
Adjust or maintain the vertical speed as required, to reach the green area and/or avoid the red area of vertical speed scale.
Note: Avoid excessive maneuvers while attempting to maintain the vertical speed just outside the red area of the vertical speed scale, and within the green area. If necessary, use the full speed range between Vα max and VMAX.
===<
> = Any CLIMB RA during approach in CONF 3 or FULL:
GO-AROUND - PERFORM
The AP/FD TCAS mode disengages and the AP/FD no longer follows the RA orders. Follow the SRS GA mode.
VERTICAL SPEED - MONITOR
Check that the vertical speed remains out of the red area of the vertical speed scale and take over if necessary. Respect stall, GPWS, or windshear warnings.
========================
ATC - NOTIFY
When the “CLEAR OF CONFLICT” aural alert sounds:
ATC - NOTIFY
LATERAL & VERTICAL GUIDANCE - ADJUST
Adjust the lateral and vertical guidance to resume normal navigation, in accordance with ATC clearance.
AP/FD - AS RQRD
When appropriate, reengage the AP/FD
STALL RECOVERY
“STALL I HAVE CONTROL”
As soon as any stall indication (could be aural warning, buffet…) is recognized, apply the immediate actions:
NOSE DOWN PITCH - APPLY
BANK - WINGS LEVEL
When out of stall (no longer stall indications) :
THRUST - INCREASE SMOOTHLY AS NEEDED
SPEEDBRAKES - CHECK RETRACTED
FLIGHT PATH - RECOVER SMOOTHLY
If in clean configuration and
below 20,000 ft :
FLAPS 1 - SELECT
Note: If a risk of ground contact exists, once clearly out of stall (no longer stall indications), establish smoothly a positive climb gradient.
STALL WARNING AT LIFTOFF
“STALL TOGA 15”
If stall warnings trigger at liftoff, apply the following immediate actions:
THRUST - TOGA
PITCH ATTITUDE - 15°
BANK - WINGS LEVEL
WINDSHEAR -
WARNING,
REACTIVE
“WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR”
> = On ground:
+ If before V1:
“REJECT”
+ If after V1:
“WINDSHEAR TOGA”
THR LEVERS - TOGA
REACHING VR - ROTATE
SRS ORDERS - FOLLOW
If necessary, the flight crew may pull the sidestick fully back.
Note:
1. If the FD bars are not displayed, move toward an initial pitch attitude of 17.5 °. Then, if necessary, to prevent a loss in altitude, increase the pitch attitude.
> = Airborne, initial climb or landing:
“WINDSHEAR TOGA”
THR LEVERS - TOGA
AP - KEEP ON (if engaged)
SRS ORDERS - FOLLOW
If necessary the flight crew may pull the sidestick fully back.
Notes:
1. Autopilot disengages when below α prot.
2. If the FD bars are not displayed, move toward an initial pitch attitude of 17.5 °. Then, if necessary, to prevent a loss in altitude, increase the pitch attitude.
DO NOT CHANGE CONFIGURATION
(SLATS/FLAPS, GEAR) UNTIL OUT OF WINDSHEAR.
CLOSELY MONITOR FLIGHT PATH & SPEED.
RECOVER SMOOTHLY TO NORMAL CLIMB OUT AFTER WINDSHEAR.
