What is the difference between a Special Assignment Airlift Mission (SAAM) and Operational Support Airlifts

A
  • SAAM is managed by Air Mobility Command (AMC) but used funded.
  • SAAM is for pickup or delivery at locations outside of an established AMC route.
  • Operational support lifts utilize previously established AMC or commercial flight routes. Is not utilized for full Battalion mount-out.

  • Awareness of the TOA asset locations, conditions, and how much space is required for marshalling, transporting, and arrival/assembly.

  • Training and readiness of embark personnel
    Coordinate requirements for movement with S3.
