Motor cortex
Where is the POST central gyrus found?
Sensory cortex.
What divides the two central gyrus’?
Central fissure.
What are direct perception theories?
Based on input bottom up approach which starts at the senses, always assumes perception. is a stimulus feature, individual parts are detected by senses which are combined.
What are constructive theories?
Top down processing, which starts at the brain, actively seeking information and more sensitive to some, thought that perception is built up using information based on expectations.
What is speech segmentation?
Top down- The ability to tell when one word ends and another begins.
What is known as transitional probabilities?
Top down- Knowing which sound will likely follow another in a word.
What are gestalt principles?
Mind grouping patterns according to intrinsic laws of perceptual organisation based on knowledge of the world.
What is Pragnanz?
Principles of the brain usually seeing easier things to perceive rather than multiple complex things as similar things are usually grouped together.
What is bayesian inference?
Ones estimate of the probability of a given outcome is influences by two factors:
- Prior probability
- Likelihood of outcome.
What is the dorsal pathway?
(Upper) Perception and action where is an object.
What is ventral pathway?
(lower) perception and categorisation and knowledge as it connects to memory areas which includes information w e know about the world.
