Scared straight originated in America as initiative which organised visits to prison facilities by juvenile delinquents or children at risk of becoming delinquent
The nudge concept
Nudge theory is an idea grounded in behaviour science and both economic and political theory.
It suggest that positive reinforcement and indirect suggestion can influence peoples decisions and actions without them even realising
