  • Severe hypokalaemia or severe hyponatraemia.
  • Anuria, acute kidney injury or chronic kidney (CKD) disease due to nephrotoxic or hepatotoxic drugs, or associated with hepatic coma.
  • CKD with a creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min/1.73 m2.
  • Addison’s disease.
