Perspective on settling

A

Is life about just getting by, settling for “good enough?” No, it’s about living life to the fullest, feeling and looking your absolute best and having fulfilling relationships and experiences that are all a part of being the best you can be, not just “good enough.” Life is not about just getting by. Don’t settle for “good enough.”

But that is just it. it is all about today. It has to be today. Today is the day I need to think about my health, fitness, career, happiness and intentions. What am I doing to meet my goals every single day?

What is a healthy way to think of splurges?

A

Eliminate black and white thinking. You can have a splurge and not feel guilty about it! Really! Most women make the mistake of eating something that they know they shouldn’t’ and then feel horrible. They beat themselves up, which leads to continuing to blow their diet because they figure they already screwed up. They feel like they have failed so why even try? Instead, choose your splurges wisely. but when you decide to eat something you know you shouldn’t, enjoy it fully and get back on track with your next meal. YOU HAVE NOT BLOWN ANYTHING. Stop beating yourself up! You would have to eat 3,500 cals beyond what you normally do to gain a pound of fat. Don’t feel guilty about a splurge ever again!

If a negative or demoralizing thought enters your mind… do this instead.

A

Immediately substitute it with one that is motivating and supportive to what you want to accomplish. You must change your mindset and internal dialogue so that the only messages you send yourself are those that can empower you. Changing your lifestyle and improving yourself all start with changing your thoughts.
