A
- Rare genetic disorder
- Mucocutaneous pigmentation and hamartomatous polyps in GI tract

Etiology of Peutz–Jeghers Syndrome
A
- Genetic
- Autosomal dominant trait in 70% cases
- 30% new mutations

Clinical features of Peutz–Jeghers Syndrome
A
- Multiple, small round, ovoid or irregular shaped black/brown spots
- 1-10mm diameter
- Perioral skin, nose, eyes, lips, buccal mucosa and tongue
- Intestinal polyps- increased risk of malignant neoplasm

- Intestinal endoscopy
- Radiographic examination of the gastrointestinal tract.

- Not required for mucocutaneous lesions
- Surgical excision of polyps if cause symptoms
- Regular checkups
