A
  1. Squeeze test
    *tibia and fibula at mid calf
    *pain will indicate syndesmosis injury
  2. External rotation test
    *ankle is Dorsiflexion, externally rotate it
    * pain will indicate syndesmosis injury
  3. Subtalar joint injury
    *tender at sinus tarsi

**1,2 need surgery

What are some labs to order?

A
  1. Can be diagnosed with H&P
  2. Radiographs
    *swelling, inability to bear weight, tenderness over bone
  3. MRI
    *asses the severity of the sprain
