Q

Why do Gillborn and Youdell argue that streaming happens? HINT: A-C economy

A

The A-C economy takes place when teachers focus all their time, effort and resources on pupils who are likely to get their 5A*-C grades, in order to boost the school’s positioning in the league tables. This means that teachers do not focus on the children who are failing or have 5E’s!
