Q

Explain the transition into the next section and interpret it

A

-a scale is played on the piano before the aural setting goes silent and the monks turn around to look at the temple. They knock over the temple of boxes, and they all fall to the ground except for Larbi’s metal box which is still standing. The monks then quickly pick up a box and drags them into position for the next section
-this could show how Larbi has found his inner strength and can withstand the greater level of pressure once again. Shows east vs west as the metal ‘stronger and better constructed’ box remains stood up representing capitalism and consumerism
