What is the PO accountable for as per the scrum guide? (4)

A
  • 1) GOAL - developing and communicating a single product goal - inspiration and direction for team
  • 2) BACKLOG CREATION- enaging with stakeholders and identifying requirements, then clearly creating and expressing them as Product Backlog items. Most knowledgable about product backlog, and help Devs refine and create clarify for what is needed on each item
  • 3) PRIORITISE - ordering Product Backlog items. PO’s decision making is made transparent through the ordering of the product backlog items.
  • 4) TRANSPARENT- Accountable for ensuring the product backlog is transparent and visible and understood by those who will turn the product backlog items into valuable product increment

  • serves product owner by helping them find techniques e.g. product backlog management, making product backlog items transparent, improving facilitation methods with stakeholders
  • serves org - e.g. rships between stakeholders and scrum teams, planning and advising on scrum implementation withing org, enabling employees and stakeholders to enact empirical approach to complex work
