What is superficial fascia and what does it contain?

A

It is: loose connective tissue and stored fat that provides most of bodies fat storage, thickness can vary greatly.

Contains: sweat glands, superficial blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and cutaneous nerves. Cutaneous nerves course through superficial fascia sending only their terminal branches to the skin.
