Iron-deficiency anemia
This is when there is a shortage of iron, this causes anemia as iron is needed to make hemoglobin in the blood which transports oxygen around the body
How to prevent iron-deficiency anemia
-Must have sufficient iron intake
-Eat foods rich in vitamin C as this is needed to turn iron from ferric into ferrous which can much more easily be absorbed
Reasons iron may be lacking in the diet
-Snacking and grazing throughout the day rather than traditional meals could reduce iron intake
-Less red meat eaten for health
-Dark green vegetables are unpopular

-The arteries usually narrow because of a build up of cholesterol
- High intake of saturated fat
- Being overweight - strain on the heart
-High salt intake (HBP)
-Too little NSP - needed to lower cholesterol
