Structure and function of a cell wall
Strengthens the cell. It is fully permeable. Plant cell walls are made of cellulose, Fungi cell walls are made of chitin and bacteria cell walls are made of murein.
Structure and function of cell membrane
It is a very thin layer surrounding the cytoplasm. It selects what can enter and leave the cell.
Structure and function of cytoplasm
It has a jelly like structure and is where chemical reactions take place by enzymes. Storage granules are present
Structure and function of nucleus
It is a dark prominent area in the cytoplasm. It controls the cells activity
Structure and function of cell vacuole
It is a cavity in the cell filled with cell sap. It stores water and sugar and controls the water levels in cell.
Structure and function of chloroplasts
Contains chlorophyll which has a green pigment. It is the site of photosynthesis, chlorophyll absorbs the light needed for photosynthesis
Structure and function of mitochondria
It is an organelle containing many enzymes need for respiration reactions and it releases energy in respiration
Structure and function of ribosomes
Small granules where protein synthesis takes place.
