Key therapeutic use:

  • Herpes Simplex Virus (cold sores) – supplemental L-lysine helps to prevent and fight outbreaks. It is more effective when combined with vitamin C.
  • The virus uses arginine to replicate, so increases in lysine can limit viral replication.
