Facing and backing Materials ; Backings
1. woven: installed in medium to heavy usage areas such as commercial corridors. 2. Non woven: Non-woven backing is used for any Type II wallcoverings which require a design matching since it is dimensionally stable, and will not stretch during 3. knit backing: mainly used for upholstery fabrics for furniture, it can also be used for wall. 4. paper backing: used mostly on vinyl and vinyl coated papers. These backings are used mostly for residential wallcoverings. 5. contact paper: Feel like paper but have improved performance and more expensive. 6. acrylic or latex :used on fabric wallcoverings to allow for stability and improved hanging qualities. 7. lining paper: a backing that is not yet adhered to a facing material.
