Peyer’s patch structures

A

Unencapsulated lymphoid tissue in lamina propria and submucosa of ileum.

Contains specialized M cells that take up antigen.

B cells stimulated in germinal centers of Peyer’s patches differentiate into IgA secreting plasma, which ultimate reside in lamina propria.
