Q
what does the most appropriate manufacturing processes (Mass, batch, one-off) depend on?
A
- product style and construction: some parts of the garment may require specialist machinery (e.g embroidery panels), other parts may require sub-assembly (e.g collars and pockets)
-Type of fabric: some fabrics require specialist handling or processing techniques
-type of component- e.g piping or lace inserts in seams. When do they need to be incorporated and is any specialist equipment required?
-order of construction: certain processes need to be completed first before others can begin e.g hems are generally finished after seams have been constructed
