What is HNPCC? (Hereditary Non-Polipus Colorectal Carcinoma)
Hereditary
Increased risk for colorectal, as well as ovarian, and endometrial
Arises De Novo and not through polyps
What is Microsatellite Instability Pathway?
Microsatellites are noncoding DNA
Instability in copying of genes can lead to Colorectal Carcinoma
Decreased stool caliber seen in
left sided carcinoma which grows like a constricting ring (napkin ring lesions) which squeeze the poop
Usually associated with Adenoma Carcinoma Sequence
Right sided carcinoma results in
Iron deficiency anemia due to bleeding
Wider then left colon so don’t really see constriction
Usually associated with microsatellite instability
Colorectal Carcinoma associated with what type of infection?
Streptococcus bovis endocarditis
Most common site of metastasis for CRC
Liver
CEA serum tumor marker is an indicator of what
