What is quantitive data?
Obtained objectively with instruments and have numerical values.
What is qualitative data?
Subjective, descriptive and based on observation.
What is ranked data?
Refers to data transformation, numerical values replaced by their rank.
What is the arithmetic mean?
Average of a data group.
Median? Mode?
Median - middle value with equal numbers of data above and below.
Mode - most common value.
Why are box plots used?
To show variation within and between sets.
What are error bars?
Indicate range of dat.
Correlation exists if?
Relationship between two variables visible in data, correlation is not associated and does not imply causation.
When does causation exist?
if changes in values of the independent variable is accompanied by an increase in another variable.
Whats a positive/negative correlation?
Positive - increase in one variable is accompanied bye an increase in another the other variable.
Negative - increase in one variable oil accompanied by a decrease In the other variable.
