A smartphone is an Internet- capable phone that usually also includes a calendar an appointment book, an address book, a calculator, a notepad, games and several other apps (which are programs on a smartphone.
A digital camera is a device that allows you to take photos and store the photographed images digitally. Some are built into smartphones and other mobile devices.
Portable media players - A portable media player, sometimes called a personal media plaer, is a mobile device on which you can store, organize, and play or view digital media. Digital media includes music, photos and videos. iPod
E-Book Readers- Short for electronic book reader is a mobile device that is used primarily for reading e-books. Kindle
Game devices - Is a mobile computing device designed for single-player or multiplayer video games.
Differentiate among tablets, laptops, desk tops and servers.
Laptops can be as powerful as the average desktop, more people today choose laptops over desktops so that they have the added benefit of portability. Tablets are ideal for those not needing the power of a laptop or for searching for information, communicating with others, and taking notes in lectures, at meetings, conferences, and other forums where a laptop is not practical.
The major components of a computer
Data (Input) - Enter data into a computer. Keyboard, pointing device, voice and video input, scanners
Output device - Convey text, graphics, audio, and video. Printers, Displays, Speakers.
Memory and Storage - Memory consists of electronic components that store instructions waiting to be used and the data needed by those instructions. Storage by contrast, hold data, instructions and information for future use.
Storage devices - hard disks, solid state drives, USB flash drives, memory cards, optical discs, cloud storage.
Processing device - CPU, memory and motherboard

The fundamental purpose of computer networks is to provide access to shared resources, most notably printers and data storage (both disk drives and tape drives). Local Area Networks (LANs), are used many places including businesses, government and schools.

The Internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure, connecting millions of computers together globally.
The World Wide Web, or simply Web, is a global library of information available to anyone connected to the Internet.
Differentiate the internet from the web, and describe the relationship among the web, webpages, websites and web servers.

Operating System is the System Software that makes the Computer work. We can say that an Operating System (OS) is Software that acts as an interface between you and the hardware.
Application software is the software that you install onto your Operating System. It consists of the programs that actually let you do things with your computer. These Applications are written to run under the various Operating Systems.
